 This is a website dedicated to a music endeavour, inspired by the work of a much greater entity, the SETI institute. Let's talk some about its labor.
The question "are we alone in the Universe?" has been asked for many generations, and still doesn't have a clear and precise answer, however, since many years ago, we have been looking and listening to the sky, searching for answers. Some people bring this matter to a religious perspective, however science relies on fact and evidence, and that's the way SETI approaches its search, it's not a matter of "to believe or not to believe", it's a matter of "is there anyone else around or not?". An astronomer called Frank Drake proposed an equation that imply that there might be hundreds of other civilizations only in our galaxy. This lead to the creation of the SETI institute (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence), and the SETI@home project. We can all help in detecting an ETI signal, by installing a screen saver program, that lends processing power from your computer to the SETI project. There are several movies and books where you can find out more about how does SETI work, among the most recommended ovies and books about the subject is "Contact" (starring Jodie Foster) based on a novel of the same name, written by renowned astronomer and SETI supporter, Dr. Carl Sagan.
